What if I’m Pregnant?

What if I’m Pregnant?

Any unplanned pregnancy can be difficult.  You may be facing difficult emotions and decisions that come with pregnancy.  Most women want to have children when they are ready and best able to care for them.  But millions of women face unplanned pregnancies every year.  In fact, half of all pregnancies in the United States are unplanned.  If you think you may be pregnant, the first step is to take a pregnancy test.

Symptoms of Pregnancy

Early signs of pregnancy are worth noting. A missed period is the most common indicator, but that does not necessarily mean you are pregnant.  Stress and activity levels can delay a menstrual period or cause fatigue or changes in appetite.

Other Common Symptoms

  • Late period
  • Tender or swollen breasts
  • Frequent urination
  • Nausea or vomiting
  • Fatigue
  • Lightheadedness, dizziness or fainting
  • Back aches
  • Food cravings or aversions
  • Darkening of the nipples
